Further investigation
Dr Terence Meaden interviewed the witness by telephone. At the time the circle formed, Mr Williams was working on a farm belonging to his father, in Cilycwm in Dyfed. He stated to Dr Meaden that he had seen crop circles during World War II when much cereal crop was being grown. These earlier circles contained small cones of standing stems at their centres.
The event witnessed happened later in the 1940s, on one August morning. Mr Williams states that he heard, and then saw, a whirlwind in the field, which created a completely flat circle (no standing centre) in a matter of seconds.
This account is similar in detail to the other early 20th Century eye-witness cases on record.
